The full color hardcover was the original vision. I couldn’t bear the thought of having Meg’s wondrous art be anything short of what it is, in full color. I do love it, though it’s printed on white, not cream-colored, paper. I love cream-colored paper. And so …
The black and white (interior) hardcover emerged. Cream paper. Art still beautiful, but less true to its original form.
The paperback is also printed on cream paper, and I really like the feel of it in my hands. I often like hardcovers so much more than paperback, but in this case, I think the paperback, especially the feel of it being a “handbook,” holds up beautifully.
